Our Mission

The ArdWood Civic Association (ACA) is organized to serve, promote, and protect the community interests of the stakeholders residing in the Ardmore and Wynnewood communities of Lower Merion Township.  Through volunteer efforts the ACA will work to identify and evaluate needs, disseminate information, and take appropriate action to support our stakeholders with the common goal of improving the quality of life in our community.

The Urban Land Institute has published a document titled "Higher Density Development - Myth and Fact".  This document provides some good insight into the type of development that may be part of the Ardmore Revitalization.

A NEW PARK at Linwood and Athens

The parking lot at Linwood and Athens has been purchased by the Township and will be turned into a park no later than May 2009.

A local professional landscape architect has been selected to develope the Master Plan design of the new Linwood Avenue Park.  The planning process has started and additional public meetings, charettes, and design activities will take place over the next several months.

Ardmore Clean Up

    

Would you like to help clean up our neighborhoods in Ardmore?  Do you know of an area that needs a little TLC?  Let us know.

 

There is a group of citizens that regularly organizes clean up events.   The events usually take place on Saturday mornings.

 

If you would like to be notified about future cleanups, contact Ken at ardmorecleanup@gmail.com.

Trees, trees, trees.  

 

Do you know anywhere in our neighborhood that needs a shade tree or two?  The Township wants our opinion on where trees are needed and they have money to plant them.  Please contact Chris Leswing at cleswing@lowermerion.org with your suggestions or requests for shade trees.

 

Meetings

The ACA meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church located at the corner of Wynnewood Road and Athens Avenue.  Agendas will be posted and emailed when prepared.
